1. Click in the space on your new document where the header will be.
2. Remember to select "Different First Page" in the Design Tools part of the toolbar.
3. Select Page Number --> Top of Page--> Choose the number to appear on the left of the screen.
You should see a 1 appear on the left.
4. Next, move your cursor to the left of the page number.
5. Type the words Running Header and then your title (see handout for format of this)
6. Click Tab after that so that your page number moves to the right of the page (again see handout for what this should look like).
7. Go ahead and enter the information for your title page (remember to use a 4 digit number - not your name).
OKAY, now that page one is complete, you can hit enter until you get to page 2 of what will be your essay.
1. Again, click in the space where the header for page 2 will be.
2. Repeat step 3 above (page number that appears should say 2)
3. Move your cursor to the left of that page number
4. Type your title on the left.
5 Click Tab until your page number moves to the right.
6. You are all set up to write!
